Our Big Yellow House

The origin of the name "Big Yellow House" comes from the stunning Victorian house that the Enders Family has called home for over 20 years now. Built in the 1840s and set in a historical New England village in the "Quiet Corner" of eastern Connecticut, the home boasts high cielings, large rooms and an age you can feel. While it has always been a work in progress, the Enders Family holds their home close to their heart. No matter where they are in the world, they know they have the comfort of coming back to the home that has provided so many memories over the years.

Having hosted dozens of exchange students for more than 15 years, the Big Yellow House has become the home of not just the Enders Family, but all that have travelled through coming from every corner of the world. Whether it be exchange students, friends or extended family, all are welcome at the Big Yellow House and all can feel the warmth of a home built on love as soon as they walk in the back door.

Now, with that in mind, we hope to offer vacation rentals that are more than just houses, but ones that feel like home.
