Being on an island you have never been to before can be hard sometimes! Spanish Wells has evolved a lot over the years and you can find a lot of information online if you need it. But, we have decided to give our guests some tips and tricks we have learned through experience and research of our own.
A lot of shops on the island close between the hours of 12pm-1pm so that those working can go home for their lunch break. Keep this in mind when you want to go exploring.

When the garbage is full, you can take it out to the little purple hut in front of the bungalow at the street. Composting goes in the wooden composter off the left side of the deck.
Most stores close by 5pm, most restaurants by 10pm. In the Bahamas, they like to joke about the "Bahamas Midnight". Most of the time you will be ready for bed by 9 or 10pm as it is!

The Food Fair grocery store is closed on Sundays and only open until noon on Wednesdays. The rest of the week they are open from 8am to 5pm.
You can call Candida, our Property Manager at +1 242-333-4580, if you need more water; especially if the cistern runs out. She will turn on the reverse osmosis system to make more water.

Unfortunately, the flies can be bad on the island sometimes; especially if they are processing trash at the dump down the road. If you stay on top of the dishes and store food properly there should not be too much of a problem.

If you need ice for your drinks and/or for the cooler on the deck, you can get it at Budda's Liquor Store & Snack Shack (13th Street) and also at Ronald's Seafood on the docks.
Do not forget to head to Pinder's grocery store a day or two before your departure to book your water taxi back to the North Eleuthera airport (if that is from where you will be leaving).

Drink lots of water and stay fed. Staying in the sun all day is draining!
